Health Care Voters Support Culver for Governor

DES MOINES – Iowa for Health Care and Health Care Voters joined together on the steps of the Capitol to announce that they are putting their support behind the pro-health care candidate for Governor, Chet Culver.

“Iowa’s Health Care Voters know that something significant has to be done to fix our health care crisis,” said Sarah Swisher, RN, Director of Iowa for Health Care. “We need a leader on health care to lead our state.  That’s why Health Care Voters support Chet Culver.  He is for fixing our health care crisis by controlling costs and expanding access and preventative care.”

Iowa for Health Care is now working with more than 20,000 Health Care Voters across the state who are committed to supporting elected officials who will fight for quality, affordable health care for all.

“I’m honored to receive support from Health Care Voters across our state,” said Chet Culver, candidate for Governor.  “I have a real plan to make health care more affordable and accessible for Iowa’s families and to help our seniors deal with sky-rocketing prescription drug costs.”

“I will also bring hope and opportunity to thousands of Iowans suffering from devastating conditions like Alzheimer’s disease, Type I diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, and cancer, by lifting Iowa’s restrictive ban on stem cell research," continued Culver.

Other speakers who declared their support for Chet Culver for Governor included Dr. Andrea McGuire and Senator Jack Hatch.

Chet Culver will continue his day of health care at a health care forum this evening.  Both candidates for governor will discuss their health care plans at a forum that will be aired live on Iowa Public Television.
